Predicted Giants Super Volcano Area Sweep Two Thirds of Americans

A super volcano is expected to explode with a force a thousand times more powerful than the eruption of Mount St. Helens in 1980.

Much spewing lava into the sky, the lethal ash vulkaniknya will make the layer as deep as 10 feet to 1,000 miles.

Two-thirds of the United States can not be inhabited while toxic air swept the area, stop thousands of flights and forced millions of people to flee their homes.

This is the nightmare that scientists predict could happen if the world's largest super volcano erupted for the first time in 600,000 years, which could happen in the near future.

Caldera Yellowstone National Park has erupted three times in the last 2.1 million years and researchers who monitor it says one another eruption could occur.

They say that the super volcano under Wyoming Park has increased in the stage record since 2004 - the floors have gone up to three inches per year for three years, the fastest rate since records began in 1923.

But, hampered by a lack of data has to stop warning and they were not able to set a date when the next disaster might occur.

When the eruption finally he will give effects like Eyjafjallajökull volcano in Iceland, which erupted in April last year, and caused travel chaos across the globe.

Bob Smith of the University of Utah, an expert in volcanism of Yellowstone, told National Geographic: "This is a remarkable increase, because it covers a large area and the percentage is very high."

"At this early stage we are concerned that could lead to eruption." However, he added, "After we saw the magma at a depth of ten kilometers, we were not so worried."

"If he was at a depth of two or three miles we were much more concerned."

Robert B. Smith, professor of geophysics at the University of Utah, who has led a recent study into the volcano, adding: "Our best evidence is that the crustal magma chamber filled with molten rock."

"But we do not know how long this process took place before there is an eruption or the flow of molten rock stops and the caldera is empty again."

Yellowstone Caldera is one of the most amazing creations and is located on top of North America's largest volcanic field.
